Community Triumph as New Nature Reserve Opens Between Little and Great Ouseburn...

Local determination and star support have combined to create a brand-new nature reserve in the heart of North Yorkshire.

On Thursday 2nd October, residents, supporters and schoolchildren gathered to celebrate the official opening of the 20-acre Townend Field Nature Reserve. This site has now been secured for nature and people after a successful fundraising campaign earlier this year.

The reserve was purchased by the Upper Ouse Conservation Trust (UOCT) after an astonishing £275,000 was raised in just four weeks back in February.
